    Hi
First of all welcome to the Forum

I would like to know what sort of cars you prefer

Do you want a SUV/MUV or a hatch

    Also

    What is the preference, Indian/Japanese/European

Would you be getting a used one ?

    Hi Rahul,
Thanks. I like normal car and not SUV. its just for family use.
Any brand but below Rs 6 lakh. Better if diesel car.
Also please consider my height since I am 6 feet height.
I think Alto and Chevrolet beat are not comfortable for my height.

    Oh Okay

I am not sure what is the price in India since am In Australia.
I think there are some cars that I've heard is good that includes:
    Tata Indigo-Diesal
    Fiat Punto Diesal
VW Vento- ( I think its for 8 lacs)
    Hyundai i20

Please see if you can get something used as well
There is a guide in the same section about buying a USED Vehicle

For your budget go for a Hatch Back. Though you have many choices in that segment I would suggest Swift Diesel for Dealer/Service network, Maintenance Costs and Resale Value.

Your height should be no issue, there will be plentiful head and leg room :)

Yes there is a waiting period for Diesel or you have to pay a premium.
