The D3 Diesel engine XC60 comes with an automatic transmission system with 6 speed automatic and an all wheel (four wheel) drive system for better off-roading capabilities. The XC60 is brought to India as a CBU and besides paying hefty duties and taxes on a CBU, an ex-showroom pricing of under Rs. 40 lakh price tag is a very aggressive pricing. The 2012 Volvo XC60 will compete with mighty luxury SUVs like the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 which are well established products in their segment. Volvo is relatively less popular in luxury car segment in India. The Mercedes Benz M Class is quite high priced when compared to the XC60, so the Volvo does not feel challenge from the Mercedes.
