    Mahindra XUV500

Designed and developed entirely in-house by Mahindra, the XUV500 is probably among the best that you can drive on Indian roads. The XUV500 is Mahindra's first in a series of next generation global SUVs, which it says is a trendsetter in terms of styling and comfort across the globe. As per a report, the XUV500 enjoys a market share of 60 per cent in the high-end SUV segment. On the front, the 7-seater SUV sports a unique front honey comb grille that lends the SUV a burly look thus giving it significant road presence. In addition, the XUV500 comes with static-bending projector headlamps, LED parking lamps and racing-inspired twin exhaust that give the vehicle a sophisticated style. Mahindra XUV 500 has 2179cc mHawk engine that also powers the Mahindra Scorpio and now even the Xylo. Inside, it’s almost plush. Everywhere you’ll look, the choice of colours, the faux wood panelling at places, and both soft grain plastic and leather, you’ll feel like you are in an expensive set of wheels. This is the first car from the Mahindra brand that is based on a monocoque chassis. There are four AC vents on the front dash, two on the sides of the central console and one on either side. The XUV500’s tail light cluster treatment is distinctive yet simple and very effective. The ride and handling of XUV 500 is much better as compared to previous versions of cars by M&M. Overall, the XUV 500 offers a great experience and sheer dynamism on the move.

    Renault Duster

The Renault Duster is a car that borders between an overgrown hatch and a full blown SUV. It is a perfect car that is big enough to satisfy your ego and small enough to fit into a parking spot in front on your house. The front of the car houses double barrel headlamps with a large chrome grille. The sides have prominent and muscular wheel arches with 16-inch alloy wheels. The car gets its SUV attitude through roof rails and side steps enhance. The SUV is muscular to the rear. The tail lamp cluster is simple yet elegant and is complemented by bulging surrounds on the boot. The vehicle’s name is boldly inscribed with chrome plating. On the inside, Duster offers plenty of room for four, even for five if those in the backseat are willing to snuggle up. It offers high driving position with a whopping 475 litres of boot volume. The Duster is available in three engine options. The 1.6-litre petrol engine which delivers 104 PS at 5850rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 3750rpm. Two variants of the 1.5 dCi K9K diesel engine are also available — one developing 85PS and the other, 110PS. The Duster weighs less than 1300kg, making it quite agile over challenging conditions. Renault claims the petrol Duster offers a mileage of 13.4 kmpl and the 85PS, 110PS diesels return 20.45 kmpl and 19.01 kmpl respectively. The car also does well on performance, handling, ground clearance and offering value for money.

    Tata Safari Storme
After Safari's 14-year life span, Tata Motors have finally given a major facelift to its popular SUV model. However, there have been hardly any significant upgrades apart from two new engines and minor cosmetic changes. The major changes are on the front, where the wide grille with sharp-looking headlights gives it a nice, stylistic touch. Projector headlamps and a 'power bulge' on the bonnet also add to the overall aesthetic appeal. On the sides, it is the same old Safari. Some notable improvements include the pull-type door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels and newly designed foot-steps. On the rear, the the tailgate-mounted spare wheel is now placed under the body. Although the Storme has all new tail lamps, spoilers, roof-rails, the distinction comes in form of chrome-tipped twin exhaust pipes that boost the SUV's sporty feel. The Safari Storme is powered by a 2.2 litre VariCOR engine, since it is turbocharged by Variable Turbine Technology (VTT). An updated version of the 138bhp DiCOR, the engine delivers 140 PS of power and 320 NM of torque. Starting from Rs 9.95 lakh for the entry-level trim, the Safari Storme offers good value for money.[IMG]

Large attractive headlights, sharp kidney-shaped grille, lean sculpted flanks, a long sculpted bonnet and a good-looking rear, makes it a solid and sturdy car to own and drive in the city. On the inside, it combines the best of sedan design and SUV storage. Then inside ambiance can be made adaptable: auto air-con and auto air recirculation, plus fogging, solar sensors, micro-filters and other digital additions mean that you can set the temperature and brightness within the cabin easily. BMW X1 is available with 2 engine options: diesel and petrol, the 1995cc, 4 Cylinders petrol engine generates maximum power of 150 bhp with maximum torque of 200 nm. It comes with a host of safety features like multiple airbags, crash sensors, Electronic Vehicle Immobilization, seatbelts, a warning triangle, first aid kit, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
