Tata Indica Vista became the latest hatchback to enter the elite club of powerful hatchbacks in India. Today, the company launched the Indica Vista D90 powered by 1.3 – litre Fiat branded Multijet engine which Tata Motors call Quadrajet. The little more powerful hatchback was due since past few months and with Tata’s aggressive branding, the car was launched at India’s only Formula 1 track; The Budh International Circuit. With an ARAI figure of 21.12 km/l, the engine pumps out 90 PS of maximum power with 200 Nm of torque. With the new engine, Tata made many different changes to the vehicle to give it a more premium look and feel. In the interiors, a new instrument cluster has been added with new options and location, which is now just in the front of driver instead of middle of the dashboard. The feature list includes follow me headlamps, steering mounted audio controls, one touch power windows, automatic climate control, touch screen driver information display, dual airbags for more safety and contrasting roof colours making the vehicle more attractive visually. Available in 5 colours; Porcelain White, Cavern Grey, Jet Silver, Spice Red and Ultra Violet add to the sportiness of the vehicle. Tata Motors has said to be work extensively on the handling and brakes of the more powerful Vista while NVH levels have been greatly improved in the vehicle. The car is available in two variants; VX: Rs. 5.99 lakhs and the top trim ZX – Rs. 6.83 lakhs. Tata announced that the LX model has been discontinued.
