Following the latest contract signed between BMW and to jointly develop a sports car, new speculations are starting to come out about the mystifying sports model that Toyota and BMW mentioned in their agreement.

The Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, during a speech in Germany gave some evidence about which direction to pursue by mentioning about BMW’s strength in developing sports cars.

From the agreement’s hints, according to Autoweek, that both companies are not seeking to build the cars that will result from this partnership to be similar or shared elements of exterior design, as was the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86.

Other sources in the BMW report hypothesized that the signing of this collaboration could be the foundation for the return of the Toyota Supra, possibly using the architecture of the new BMW 6 Series.

A sport car from Lexus is also possible, based on the LF-LC Concept. This could be based on the BMW i8 and sharing costs with Toyota could reduce the very high price of i8.
