Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched a new version of their popular Scorpio model, known as the Scorpio EX. This model will be powered by an m2DiCR engine, which delivers 75bhp of max power and a 14kmpl mileage, according to ARAI. The new Mahindra Scorpio model has a price tag of around Rs.7.21 lakhs, according to ex-showroom Pune for the Bharat Standard IV norms. The 2.5l m2DiCR engine with a max power of 75bhp and a peak torque of 220Nm is an example of competent engineering. This engine has a fuel saving technology, known as the Micro Hybrid that allows the engine to switch efficiently into standby mode, when it is not in use, thus ensuring that a lower amount of fuel is consumed, while also being environment friendly. The Scorpio EX is also compliant with the stringent emission norms of the BSIV, so that it emits a lower amount of emission in turn reducing the carbon footprint. Some of the additional features of this model include crumple zones for crash protection, which will protect passengers during any unfortunate collision, while a digital immobilizer protects the model from theft. The model also has an effortless acceleration rate of 0-60kmph in 11.2 seconds. The model is offered in four different colours to choose from, which include Mist Silver, Fiery Black, Diamond White and Rocky Beige. Mahindra & Mahindra’s automotive division’s Senior VP of Marketing, Vivek Nayer, said that at their company, their endeavour is to offer the highest quality products, and their new Scorpio version is no different. The new Scorpio EX model will be a hit with their younger customers who are looking at a cheaper entry into this franchise. The Mahindra Scorpio has been very successful since it was launched in its segment. The company has also ensured its success by constantly upgrading it, and bringing out new versions of it.
