Scala is said to be a distant brother of Nissan Sunny as most of it is quite similar to Sunny, though it has enough cues to be distinguished as a different entity as a whole.Renault Scala is expected to be launched on September 7th, 2012. The premium sedan comes loaded with the same engines that Sunny sports in it. The petrol variant uses up a 1.5L petrol engine producing 97bhp peak power and the diesel variant sports a 1.5L K9K diesel engine delivering 84bhp peak power. The exteriors do make it appear like Sunny but its front grille and Renault badge makes it different. Interiors are similar too but as it is positioned above Sunny you get leather interiors. Ride quality is lavish though a bit bumpy when in high speed over the bumps. Handling is good but steering is stiff and brake isn’t that comfortable. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 6.50 and 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
