Honda City stocks are piling up and the company is looking to clear up this pile. If rumors are to be believed the Japan based auto giant Honda might slash the prices of its premium and best selling sedan by a sizable amount of Rs 70,000 to Rs 1, 000, 00. However you will have to wait for some more time as the offer will be made available for the face-lifted 2012 Honda City. The car can be expected to hit the showrooms anytime in December month this year and therefore the company wants to clear the stocks of its existing Honda City at its production units and dealership ends. This is in fact a replica of the same strategy that was applied to the unveiling of the new version of the Honda Jazz. Initially the car failed to make any sort of in roads into the market. Later the company sold the car with a huge discount price of Rs 1.5 Lakhs and the sales were nothing short of hot cakes. There has been no on the record confirmation on the same regarding the clearance sales. But looking at the down trend in the market the company will again repeat the Jazz type discount and let the dealers follow the discount process. The Honda City has been a topper in the C segment sedan class and has been good at gulping huge sales figures since it was made available at a lesser price at the early part of the year. The down pricing had instantly clicked with the audience and the surprising factor is been that the company has successfully sustained the competitive pricing of the car even at current levels. The new Honda City might not get the slash effect as the car had already availed it earlier this year. The renewed Honda City can expected to be priced at the usual tag of Rs 7.49 Lakhs beginning with the base level model. The Honda city competes with the likes of Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Vento and the newly launched Skoda Rapid.
