Caterham F1‘s 2013 race car, the CT03 was unveiled in the pitlane of the Circuito de Jerez by team drivers Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde. The visual differentiator from the CT01 is the presence of an updated livery in the form of the team’s lightened green and yellow paint scheme. A number of significant updates have been made including side pods which have been undercut around the lower chassis. The lower tea-tray area and engine cover, diffuser as also cooling exits also have seen major changes according to technical director for Caterham F1, Mark Smith.
Tony Fernandes, co-chairman, Caterham Group, at the launch said, “This is the first car we have produced from our factory in Leafield and the last we will build under the current regulations. The team has produced a car that is an evolution of the 2012 car, building on that platform to give us a chance of continuing to make progress towards the teams ahead, whilst also dedicating enough resource to start work as early as possible on the 2014 car.”
