The 2012 Mazda3 s Touring and Grand Touring are powered by the MZR 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which produces 167 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 168 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The MZR 2.5-liter engine achieves fuel economy rating of 20 city/28 highway with a manual transmission and 22 city/29 highway with the automatic. The 2012 Mazdaspeed3 is powered by a 2.3-liter Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which produces 263 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 280 lb-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm. The Mazdaspeed3 has fuel economy rating of 18 city/25 highway mpg.
