Of course UV protected / polarized are better

I dnt wear sunnies but am sure others can help you

uv protection is necessary, in my opinion for driving, wrap around sunglasses(the kind that sit in the recesses of the contours of your face) are better since they don't hinder your peripheral vision

i dont wear sun glasses much, but when i do i jus wear my ray bans. they look good and help with direct sunlight.
