Positioned in the Skoda model range between the Fabia and the Octavia, the 5-seater Rapid measures 4.48 meters in length and 1.7 meters in width. Five petrol and two diesel engines will be initially offered.

The Rapid is an A segment vehicle which currently accounts for approximately 36 percent of the world's automobile market. Within this class, sedans have a share of around 42 percent. According to industry experts, the number of A segment sedans sold worldwide will rise by about 50 percent by the year 2020.

Skoda Rapid is the new entry level sedan launched by Czech auto making giant, Skoda. The company shared the platform with its sister concern, Volkswagen, while developing this vehicle.
