Default Honda Civic Type-R Mugen 2.2

Debuted in 2010 with only 20 limited hand-built units for the U.K market, now MUGEN Euro has decided to take this Civic Type R MUGEN to a higher level by producing a unique version with even more power and torque, the Civic Type R MUGEN 2.2.

Built to pay tribute to the highly successful Honda K20 2.0-litre petrol engine which has gone out of production in Japan, the new 2.2 MUGEN version has an increased cylinder bore and stroke which gives the overall capacity of 2,156cc. This change gives the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 2.2 a capability to produce up to 260PS compared to 240PS on the MUGEN original version. Peak torque is now 240Nm at 6,000rpm.

Four remain unsold out of 20 units may have their engines re-tuned and upgraded to the 2.2 version. If you are one of the lucky owners of the previous version, you could also be able to return your cars for an upgrade. The plans for all these haven’t yet officially announced yet. Honda are considering all these upgrading options and decisions are are expected to be made soon.
